The letter from Inès de la Fressange
Ines de la Fressange's tips for successful spring cleaning
It was Paul Mirabel's mother (yes!) who told me about the Jardiniste website, which offers Japanese gardening tools, as its name suggests. Obviously, everything there is ultra-refined, like these shears with white oak handles and almost indestructible carbon blades, or these very chic black pruning shears . There's also a very fine saw with a lovely wooden case, and even mini vases or white porcelain germination cups if, like me, you grow a forest of avocado trees at home.

The gardening cushion, the knee ally
[...] This cushion has been specially designed for comfortable kneeling while gardening. [...] Its handle makes it easy to move the cushion from one seedbed to another and to hang it at the end of the day on a peg, next to the tools. Or hang it on the handlebars of your bike to take it on a picnic and use it as a seat or nap cushion.

The Japanese saw, for light pruning
[...] The Japanese folding saw, extra-light and easy to handle, is the ideal garden tool for accomplishing this task effortlessly. It cuts branches by pulling – when you pull it towards you, whereas Western saws cut when you push, which requires more force – and it is all the more effective if the movement is light, without pressing on the branch.
